سيد الخواتم: اسم الشرير ساورون في الرواية يُطلق على نوع جديد من الفراشات

أطلق العلماء على مجموعة جديدة من الفراشات اسماً استقوه من اسم الوغد “ساورون” في روايات سيد الخواتم.

واختار الخبراء اسم “ساورونا” لأن الحلقات السوداء الموجودة على الجناحين البرتقاليين للحشرة ذكرتهم بالعين التي ترى كل شيء الموصوفة في كتب جورج رونالد رويل تولكين.

ويأمل متحف التاريخ الطبيعي في لندن بأن يؤدي الاسم غير العادي إلى جذب الاهتمام بهذا الصنف من الفراشات والمساعدة في إطلاق المزيد من البحوث.

وتمت إضافة صنفين من الفراشات إلى النوع الجديد الذي أطلق عليه اسم ساورونا.

ويعتبر الصنفان “ساورونا تراينغولار” و “ساورونا أوريجيرا” العضوين الافتتاحيين في المجموعة ولكن من المتوقع أن تنضم أصناف أخرى كثيرة إليهما.

وكان الاسم قد اختير من قبل الدكتورة بلانكا هويرتاس، وهي قيّمة على الفراشات في متحف التاريخ الطبيعي، والتي هي جزء من فريق دولي وصف النوع الجديد في مقالة نشرت في المجلة العلمية “سيستماتيك انتومولوجي”.

وأمضت مجموعة تضم 30 عالماً من مختلف أنحاء العالم عقداً من الزمان في دراسة الفصيلة الفرعية من الفراشات المعروفة باسم “يوبتيشينا”.

وقام العلماء بتحليل أكثر من 400 صنف مختلف من الفراشات، واستخدموا التطورات في الحمض النووي “دي أن إيه” لتحديد الفروقات بينها على المستوى الوراثي، وكذلك من خلال مظهرها.

ولا تعتبر “ساورونا تراينغولا” و “ساورونا أوريجيرا” أول مخلوقين يتم تسميتهما على اسم الشرير “ساورون”. فالعين المتوهجة للوغد اتخذت كمرجع في اختيار أسماء لخنفساء روث وضفدع وديناصور.

واكتشف الفريق أيضاً نوعاً آخر من الفراشات، أسمته الدكتورة هويرتاس “أرجنتيريا”، الذي يعني منجم فضة، بسبب القشور الفضية على جناحيها.
